Info Post: Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

battlewithstyleHey everyone, this is just a quick info post about my boy Shokudaikiri Mitsutada here. He comes from the anime Touken Ranbu Hanamaru, which itself is an adaptation of the browser/mobile game Touken Ranbu, and generally is a source of madness and eye candy.
So let's start with a full-on C&P of Mitsutada's (yes that's his 'first' name) description from the official Touken Ranbu art book:
I'm Shokudaikiri Mitsutada. I'm a katana that was once used by Lord Date Masamune.
I don't harbor any bad feelings towards Lord Masamune, but my name comes from a time when I killed someone and happened to cut a candlestick that was nearby at the same time...
Although it really was a bronze candlestick holder, it would've been cooler if it had been something a bit more durable.

Touken Ranbu is a game where the saniwa (the player) summons and trains historical Japanese weapons, who are now flesh and blood people, to fight time-travelling demons beset on changing Japan's history. It's mainly an excuse for the player to gather a plethora of pretty boys and have them fight ugly demons.
So basically, Mitsutada here is both a sword and a person. His personal well-being is tied directly to the upkeep of his sword. If it were to shatter, he would be dead... until his blade is reforged and then he'd be alive again (video game world rules, yeeha). He remembers everything from when he was just a sword (making him hundreds of years old), but has only been a person for a relatively short time, which somehow evens out to him acting much like a 30-something man, which is reflected in his physical appearance.
So now that those points has been made, Mitsutada here is a total softy who loves cooking and making sure folks are well fed, well cared-after, and aren't getting into too much trouble. He's basically one of the den moms of Touken Ranbu Hanamaru, making sure that things in their headquarters run smoothly, chores are done, and spirits remain high.
He also considers himself fashionable, well groomed, and stylish. This is an interesting statement given he spends his non-battle times wearing tracksuits almost exclusively.
Oh, and a quick explanation of his terrifying OOC icon/how I will probably end up referring to him as 'CCP' in OOC discussion - This nickname is derived from 'Shokudaikiri', which means Candle Cutter... and the kanji for 'Mitsutada' can also be read as 'Pika' and 'Chu'. So: Candle Cutter Pikachu. CCP. Yep!
